Slow natural dye on cotton, red onion skins with mahogany seed pods |
Soft markings |
It's very, very subtle.
And develops very, very slowly.
Over the last month I soaked a cotton bandana in hot water and bundled it with mahogany seed pod husks and red onion leaves.
Left in my sunny kitchen window to slowly capture the colors released.
Is this dyeing or staining?
What is the difference?
Slowly does it dyeing in a jar over (almost) a month |
Two more days would make it a month of brewing/stewing/steeping...whatever is the precise terminology.
Now to do it again,
and again,
and again!!
