French Knot covered rock |
I've set aside work on the weekly challenges for Take A Stitch Tuesday with full intentions of jumping back in shortly. (Insert any combination of excuses here for falling behind - doesn't matter - I'll jump right back in when the timing is right!)
I was delighted when I read that this week's challenge was the French Knot stitch. This stitch I've played with before! It was covered in the British Embroiderer's Guild Stitch magazine projects online.
Mine is a base of muslin covered with french knots in a variety of silk threads, applied over a river rock with felt base.
I was thinking of those color blindness tests where colored dots form a shape or number to those with standard vision, but form nothing to those with certain color blindnesses.
Ultimately it's just a swirl of colored knots!
Take A Stitch Tuesday 2012 is an online weekly
stitch challenge hosted by Sharon B of Pintangle.
Each week she chooses an embroidery stitch which the
participants then work in any fashion they choose. All levels of participants
can join in - stitch instructions are included on the site, along with some
nudges in how to use them in your own designs.
Beautifully done!
