It only looks like a UFO
This Un-Finished Object has had applied activity!! Continuing the Wall Pillow technique with the rolled overstitched edges...(later perhaps incorporating the rough machine cord, of which I'm so fond?)

If I go any slower on this project I'll be documenting stitch by stitch Heh heh!
This morning's Florida gorgeous sunrise appeared to have its own UFO in the sky. I had sampled through my Canon's auto-settings trying to capture it well through the dusty window. My old Nikon had a dusk/dawn setting that gave me great shots like this:

I haven't managed to get there with the Canon, at all! And the UFO in today's shot? A reflection of my kitchen lighting....

Inspiring Effort in not giving up
Recently, on Diane's blog Going to Pieces I learned of BBCAmerica's 'The Choir' show. This UK choir from a school in an underprivileged area is challenged by its charismatic young leader to compete internationally. Catching it onDemand on my cable I've not watched all the episodes (yet). This seems to be a video of the amazing result of following through with an intention despite any obstacles!
My own intentions are of a smaller scale! I'm continuing to enjoy working with my Modern Batik pieces, adding some simple stitching in places.
And my continuing efforts in decluttering have me turning to ebay to share the goodies and fund our future forays in fun!!All I can say is Buy-It-Now has become my new mantra!!!

2. plus a grid

3. add a weaving

4. zoom in

5. zoom in closer.

And editing comes to mind, I ask myself...Do I need to use every color?

Wall Pillow details
Stitching in public on Saturday....
I sat in the comics shop for a couple of hours while the kids played Pokemon. Working on my "needlepoint" (sigh...I was cross-stitching the edges and making cording) as the oodle of male patrons picked up their next issues of Wolverine or whatever.
(Although I did have to scout out the next issue of True Blood, the comic, for myself, and check for old issues of Highlander or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. But perhaps that is TMI!!)
For the record - I'm not completely satisfied with the tassels on the end of the Wall Pillow cording. More play is necessary....

I'll call it Modern Batik
I'm having a good time as I work with all of the Dynaflow colors and get a handle on using the gutta in layers.

My little practice pieces becoming little pillows.

I'll add a twisted cord and they'll be Wall Pillows! (Coz after all, if you can have Wall Quilts then naturally you need Wall Pillows)

Further embellishment is an obvious step.

Mebbee later!
