ame - rain

ame - rain, originally uploaded by jckirner.

Where this came from, I'm unsure!!

I had started to layout a collage using the stamps we've been saving from incoming mail. (A saving habit learned long ago from "Blue Peter" stamp drives, do they still do that?)

But the envelope remains after the stamps were soaked off became more interesting than the stamps themselves. The different blue textures inside the security envelopes reminded me of the Japanese boro textiles - indigo cloth scrapwork from used kimonos. This is my result.

  1. It's quite lovely and moody. What's a Blue Peter stamp drive? :)
