Quilts presented as art

Video from the Rooted in Tradition exhibit in St. Petersburg, FL.

It is such a joy to see quilts presented on gallery walls with tweaked lighting as opposed to the multitudes of quilts hung on drape-n-poles with general lighting of the otherwise fantastic World Quilt Show earlier this month.

  1. Wow, thanks for that Jackie! truly a stunning curation. A friend and i were just having coffee and one thing that came up was the presentation of textile art--if it isn't "hung" properly, people think of it only as something "fabricy", but thoughtful "framing" whether on canvas or hidden mechanics, and good lighting really elevate it to where it should be, as Art.
