What could we have been up to on a slightly rainy day?
Hmmmm?
(the above picture is the clue!)
It needed rubber gloves.
(Lookee - no color duplicates!)
It needed a plethora of color filled squirt bottles
out on the covered patio.
Aha!
It was Dyeing Day for our Odd Tuesday creative group get-together.
That's Belinda, Gina and Me.
(Smart Elizabeth is the photographer and got to avoid the glamour shots!)
Belinda's marble prepped fabric.
I worked with vintage-y embroidered linens and cottons that had marks and stains to cover.
This is the waiting phase...
overnight before washout...
very
hard
to
resist
the temptation
to
rinse out.
The next day...
gallons and gallons of water to rinse out
again and again until the water runs clear.
Then through the washing machine once or twice...
And finally drying and ironing
until you reveal the final results...
Oooooo!
Such a tease.
(More tomorrow)
Looks like fun. What kind of dye did you use?
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! We used a combination of Procion colors and ready to go Tie Dye kits.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful and what a great re-use of stained items. Hmmm, I may start to buy those at garage sales and save up to do a big dye.
