Impromptu Purging...

AKA decluttering!

We moved to this home three and a half years ago, after 18 years in our first home. First homes are interesting, site of huge home ownership learning curves and repository for the accumulation phase of adulthood. Somehow we didn't learn the editing or deaccumulating concept. On top of that, we started out our life as a couple with the gift of the contents of a house from a relative moving to assisted living accomodations. Everything - furniture, cupboard contents, bric a brac.

Talk about clutter!! So here it is 3 and a half years later and I'm entering my minimalism phase of adulthood. I'm just tired of moving non-used items from shelf to shelf and not having decent storage space for things I truly use.

Now in Spring Break from college (what a concept!!) and no pressing homework to complete I launched into a master closet purge this morning. 2 bags of clothing for Goodwill, and 5 bags of garbage.

Feels good!
