Positive Negative space work

Tricky bit with collage - you lay it all out, then move the pieces to apply glue and it never quite goes back down the same way. I can see some lines went out of alignment after the gluing down. SIGH.

We started off bringing in an object to sketch from numerous angles. I brought in a rusty railroad spike. Then we created a design using 4 to 6 of our sketches and separated out the background to emphasize positive/negative space (I used overlapping concentric circles). THEN we photocopied that design in various scales and collaged it all together to make a large composition.
